"I remember my sister, Paige, talking about Tweety Cookies after one of her early summers at Camp Mystic. The oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies made by camp co-owner Tweety Eastland took on mythical status at the camp in Hunt," writes Matthew Odam in an article on Austin American-Statesman. "'Delicacies' is how my sister, 40 years later, described their import to the campers."

Tweety's Cookies (Camp Mystic)

2 sticks (1 cup) margarine (Camp Mystic uses Fleischman’s)

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

Add and mix:

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Add

2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats

1 teaspoon vanilla

Then add:

6 ounces chocolate chips (Camp Mystic uses Nestle's semisweet chocolate chips)

Here's how to make it: 

Use small ice cream scooper to shape cookie dough.

Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
