A Chef's Tender & Juicy Flank Steak Recipe Cooks In 10 Minutes Beef Dinner Grilling Budget Recipes

Cookbooks are a slight obsession of mine. I have a lot! Lately I've been reading through some of my older cookbooks and picking recipes out of them to make. My latest is this soy ginger marinated flank steak recipe from Keith Famie's Adventures in Cooking.

"This recipe was created for use with an inexpensive cut of meat commonly known as flank steak or London broil," writes Chef Famie in his cookbook. "The marinade tenderizes the meat and gives it an Asian flavor. An important technique to remember for serving the meat is to slice it thinly on the bias, thus ensuring tenderness."

To make this tender and juicy flank steak recipe you will need a flank steak, soy sauce, fresh ginger, orange marmalade, fresh garlic, a lemon, an orange and olive oil.

Ingredients

• 1 pound flank steak

Marinade

• 1 cup soy sauce
• 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
• 2 tablespoons orange marmalade
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1 lemon, juiced
• 1 orange, juiced
• 1/2 cup olive oil

Recipe Notes

• If you don't have a grill, you can cook the steak in a skillet.

• I used Dorot Gardens frozen ginger cubes instead of fresh garlic.

• You can use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce the sodium in this recipe.

Here's how to make it: 

1. Whisk together all the marinade ingredients. Marinate the steak in the mixture for 1 hour, turning a few times. 
2. Grill the flank steak to medium rare (or your desired doneness) on a preheated outdoor grill or indoor grill. 
3. Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing it against the grain.
