The Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018™: What's Your Favorite Event? by Mike Prochaska
The 2018 Winter Olympics will be held In in PyeongChang, South Korea, from February 9 to February 25, 2018. I think the Olympics are amazing. Athletes come from around the world to compete against each other for their country. Most of them are just teenagers or in their early 20s, and this is a competition and life experience they will never forgot.
I remember waking up at 2 a.m. so I could watch Team USA play during the last Olympics when the National Hockey League (NHL) sent players. PyeongChang is 14 hours ahead of the U.S.’s Eastern time zone, so while Americans might have to wake up early to catch some action, many marquee events have been scheduled to air in the evening. Now I have kids, and I don’t want to wake up at 2 a.m. to watch and then have to parent.
So what's your favorite Olympic sports and why? Personally, I can’t wait to watch snowboarding and ski jumping! I am excited for hockey, too. I'm glad that the NHL didn’t send their stars. It was fun to watch in the past, but I feel the Olympics should be the time to let the non-professional kids shine and show the world their amazing skills.
Here's the schedule of Olympic events. Go, USA!
