Felicity Aston Polar-Proofed Her Skin With Nivea: Take the Nivea Challenge With Me Skin Care
Lifestyle blog A Cup of Jo recently profiled polar explorer and scientist Felicity Aston, who in 2012 became the first woman to ski across Antarctica alone. The article is worth reading in full, but one of the fun anecdotes I found was that she revealed her secret to keeping her skin healthy and glowing in subzero temps. Drum roll please...
It's Nivea Creme! Here's what Aston said to A Cup of Jo:
"You know the old-fashioned Nivea? That comes in a tin? It’s BRILLIANT. I slather it on and it really moisturizes my skin overnight. On many expeditions, I’m the only woman, or one of just a few, and the guys tend to laugh when I get out my big pot of moisturizer. But when you’re in a really dry environment like Antarctica, if your skin is sore and your lips are cracking, you’re much more susceptible to cold injuries and serious problems."
Starting Monday, I'm going to start my own Nivea challenge by using only blue tin Nivea for two weeks on my face and body. Join me and we can share our results!
But for the full effect you have to go outside in subzero temperatures all day too.....!!!!?! And the cream has to be almost frozen when you put it on, so its like a cold-pack every night! Felicity x
