What You Should Know About Kids' Hydration Kids' Health
It's recommended that most kids need about six (8-oz) glasses of water a day, based on average weight of 88 lbs. You can adjust, but with exercise, the formula changes to about two big gulps of water or healthy sports drink every 20 minutes. It’s easy to establish a habit for staying hydrated. Be aware of the signs of dehydration: fatigue, dry mouth, cracked lips and sunken eye sockets. You can plan ahead and have cool refreshments like fruit juice, frozen juice pops and water available. Look for coolers that easily fit in the car, load them with water and fresh fruit and enjoy!
