I should start by saying that in my 35 years of life my luck has in general been bad ... like really bad. I'm one of those people who's constantly waiting for the other proverbial shoe to drop. That is, until yesterday. I was chosen by the local news channel CBS 6 and local radio station Play 103.7 to win a trip for my husband and I to go to the Grammy® Awards in New York City next weekend.

I'm over the moon excited and can't wait for all of the fun that is to be had! Thankfully the package covered airfare, hotel, Grammy® Awards tickets and tickets to the official Grammy® Awards after party. I basically floated around in happiness all day yesterday.

Now that reality of my trip is setting in, I'm realizing that I need to find the perfect dress (I can barely dress myself on a REGULAR day, much less when celebrities will be in my presence), find a nice suit for my husband and figure out what to wear to the after party. These are all awesome problems to have! I will take tons of pictures and post a few articles to document my trip to Times Square and the Grammy® Awards! Keep the faith, parents. One day your luck just might change!

The 60th Grammy® Awards will be held on January 28, 2018, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

I ended up finding a BEAUTIFUL Calvin Klein gown at Dillard's for 40% off!!! I feel like I'm too big to rent the runway. I can wear anything from a 10-18. Pretty sure that I couldn't convice them to send me that many sizes. lol

Think of it in terms of they’re just people too. I say let them be impressed by you! Find a dress that you like and no matter what it costs everyone will think it’s a custom design because that’s what people who go to those events wear. And besides, given some of the fashion atrocities that have occurred on those red carpets you’d have to mess up pretty badly to beat them! Hope you have a great time no matter what the case.
