Julia Mooney's Pledge: What Would You Do for 100 Days to Inspire Others? Opinion Make a Difference
Could you wear the same thing every day? Julia Mooney, a middle school art teacher, has pledged to wear the same dress every day for 100 days. On her Instagram page, Mooney explains that she wants her students to be aware of societal pressure and wants to bring awareness to the environmental impact of fast-fashion industry.
For her endeavor, she decided to wear a dress from London-based Thought Clothing, which certifies its apparel as fair trade. The gray dress was also a practical choice because it is versatile in color and made of durable material. These details were intentional and further supported her cause.
When I first read about Mooney’s pledge I was intrigued. I was not necessarily inspired to follow suit and begin wearing the same clothes over and over, but I was inspired to be more passionate about something. Could I do one purposeful action for 100 days? The dedication to be consistent in something to benefit and provoke thought from others is certainly powerful and deserves to be noticed.
So what would you do for 100 days to make a difference? Comment below!
