Take a walk across the historic Sydney Harbour Bridge International

What better way to spend a beautiful sunny day in Sydney than to take a walk across its iconic Harbour Bridge? As you walk, you will be treated to a bird's eye view of one of the world’s most beautiful harbours. To take the walk, I recommend starting from the Milson’s Point end and walking back towards Circular Quay, as this gives you a full view of the harbour with the city in the background as you walk along the east side of the bridge. There are train stations at each end of the bridge so you can easily get there using public transport, and the walk across the bridge itself is free. Pedestrian protection is installed on the side of the bridge, so you will be looking through an open link mesh fence. However, there are cut-out sections in the mesh that have been provided at regular intervals, which allow for photo opportunities along the way. To stroll across the bridge will take you just a little over half an hour and is a walk of about 2.5 kilometres. (Depending on how many times you stop to take photos) You can access the pedestrian path via stairs, or by lifts at each end of the bridge. There is a small museum in the south-east pylon of the bridge (accessible by stairs) which gives you a short history lesson about the bridge. The entry fee is around $15. The stairs will then take you all the way to the top, with a couple of landings along the way where you can stop if required. When you get to the top you will have magnificent 360-degree views over Sydney CBD and harbour. Next time you are in Sydney be sure to take the walk and enjoy the scenery.
