I love homemade baked goods. That said, I also enjoy a chai latte and streusel cake from Starbucks now and again. The perfect compromise: finding a copycat recipe and baking it at home!

Ingredients
Streusel
- 1 package graham crackers, crushed
- 3/4 cups brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom
- 1/2 cup (8 tablespoons) butter, melted
- 3/4 chopped walnuts, optional
Cake
- 1 3 /4 cups all-purpose flour or 2 cups cake flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1 /2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 /2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (8 tablespoons) butter, at room temperature
- 2 eggs
- 1 1 /2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup milk
Here's how to make it:
Sift dry ingredients together. Add butter, eggs, vanilla and milk. Mix until thick and smooth.
Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan or springform pan (9 or 10 inch). Pour half the batter into pan. Sprinkle with half the streusel and top with remaining batter. Next sprinkle with remaining streusel.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of cake comes out clean. Cool in pan for 20 minutes.
