- 1 cup fresh basil (packed down tight, about 2 ounces)
- 1 cup fresh cilantro
- 2 large garlic cloves
- zest from 1 lemon (medium sized)
- juice from 1 lemon
- 2/3 cup olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper (or to taste)

- You could add some fresh dill, mint or parsley to the salad dressing, too.
- Store the dressing in an airtight container, salad dressing cruet or mason jar.
Here's how to make it:
- Put the herbs, garlic and lemon zest into a food processor or blender. Pulse a few times.
- Add the olive oil, lemon juice, salt and black pepper. Pulse until combined, but not smooth.
