Easy 6-Ingredient Orange "Teriyaki" Glazed Baked Salmon Recipe Will Rock Your World by Elisa Schmitz

Here I am, singing salmon's praises once again. I cook salmon so often that you'd think I would run out of ways to prepare it, but nope! Turns out, there are endless ways to prepare a delicious and nutritious salmon dinner – so I'm going to keep on doing that.

My latest salmon recipe has an Asian flair to it. This simple six-ingredient orange "teriyaki" glazed salmon recipe is a moist and delicious seafood dinner that's ready in about 30 minutes.

The shopping list for this citrus-y glazed salmon recipe includes fresh salmon, soy sauce, water, orange juice, cornstarch and honey. You cook up the rich teriyaki-style glaze in about 10 minutes, then bake the salmon in the sauce for about 20 minutes – and boom! You've got a savory salmon dinner with flavor that will rock your world.

Serve this succulent salmon with your favorite vegetables and side dishes (I served it over plain white rice, so as not to detract from the delicious sauce, and sautéed vegetables). My husband asked me to move this to the top of our "make again soon" list!

Ingredients

• 1 pound (16 ounces) fresh salmon filet
• 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce (I used gluten-free soy sauce)
• 1/4 cup orange juice (fresh-squeezed is best)
• 1/2 cup water
• 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
• 4 tablespoons honey

Recipe Notes

• This sauce is phenomenal as is. But if you'd like, you can experiment with other optional add-ins to tweak the flavor, such as a half teaspoon of minced garlic, minced fresh ginger, minced green onions or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes.

• I prefer to squeeze my own orange juice, but in a pinch, you can use bottled orange juice.

• Use the aluminum foil to make a smaller vessel for the salmon and sauce, so it stays in place and forms a glaze.

• Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Leftover sauce will thicken in the refrigerator, so reheat any leftover sauce if you'd like to use it in a different recipe.

Here's how to make it:

1. In a saucepot over medium heat, combine all the sauce ingredients and whisk until smooth. Bring sauce to a low boil, then reduce heat and cook, whisking constantly, until the glaze thickens, about 5 minutes. The longer you cook the sauce, the thicker it will get, so keep an eye on it and remove from heat when it reaches desired consistency.
   
2. Place the salmon filet in a casserole dish or baking pan lined with aluminum foil, ensuring that the foil is angled near the salmon to create a small vessel to hold the glaze in place.
   
3. Spoon the sauce over the salmon, ensuring the salmon is covered in the sauce.
   
   
4. Bake the salmon at 350 degrees F for about 20 minutes, or until desired doneness.
   
5. Serve immediately.
