Every Easter, I smoke a brisket and make this delicious five-ingredient apricot and Dijon-glazed ham. This slow-cooker ham recipe is always the star of the dinner. The glazed whole ham is so easy and so delicious, and will satisfy the most demanding of guests. But don't just think of ham for the holidays. Ham is delicious all year and the leftovers make delicious sandwiches. They also can be used in casseroles or served for breakfast or for brunch.
To make this slow-cooker recipe, you will need to grab these simple five ingredients from your fridge and pantry: a spiral-sliced ham, apricot preserves, Dijon mustard, light brown sugar and black pepper. The sauce is quickly heated up in a saucepan, then most of it is spread on the ham before it slow cooks for six to seven hours. At the end of cooking, spread on the remaining glaze. Now slice and serve!
My ham was 11 pounds and the measurements below worked perfectly. This baked ham is wonderful for dinner with your favorite side dishes.

Ingredients
- 1 spiral sliced ham (my ham was 11 pounds)
- 1 cup apricot preserves
- 1 cup Dijon mustard
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- pinch of freshly ground black pepper
Here's how to make it:
- First, make sure your ham fits into the slow cooker with the lid on. The ham in the picture required about an inch to be cut off the bottom. In the past, I had a ham that was too long and I had to cut a few inches off the back. This was not easy due to the bone needing cut, too. I highly recommend a butt rather than a shank cut ham for this recipe.
- Combine the apricot preserves, Dijon mustard, brown sugar and black pepper in a saucepan. Bring to a slow boil and turn off the heat and let it sit for a couple of minutes. If you ham is a lot smaller than mine, you could cut the glaze ingredients in half.
- Add 3/4 cup of water to the slow cooker then add the ham. Using your favorite utensil or fingers, pry all the spiral slices apart so you can put the wonderful glaze between the slices.
- Using a spoon or spatula, spread about 60 to 70 percent of the glaze over top of the ham. Make sure to get it in between the slices.
- Cook on low for 6 to 7 hours. About 15 minutes before serving, heat up the remaining glaze and spread over top of the ham. Slice and serve. Store any leftover ham in an airtight container in the fridge.
