Decorating your child’s room? Be mindful of the floors, walls and ceilings that surround children, according to “Child Care Design Guide” by Anita Rui Olds. Research shows that color has these effects on children, based on the "hue" and "volume of color" used:
Red = energizing or aggression-inducing
Blue = soothing or depressing
Yellow = motivating or agitating
Green = calming or dulling
Purple = sensitivity and compassion or dark, moody
Orange = sociability and confidence or over-stimulating
