As Barbara Mikulski said, “Each of us can make a difference. Together we can make change.”
This coronavirus pandemic is so hard on everyone, especially those that are on the front lines saving lives. Each day health-care workers work 12-hour shifts and most without the proper PPE. Each day the need for medical supplies is growing. I knew I had to do something. But what?
Then a light bulb went off in my head. I would call the local hotels to see if they’d collaborate with me to donate shower caps! Shower caps can be used as a PPE! Instead of calling, I went to many hotels, face to face (using social distancing), to sell my story.
Everyone was ready to pitch in! With their help I was able to collect over 1,200 shower caps in two hours to donate to Cone Health.
I’m so pleased to know that I can make a difference to help save lives.
Hand in hand. Together we can!
