Listen Up, Dads: Believe It or Not, Your Kids ARE Listening to You! by Holly Budde

My dad always had three standard answers for me, no matter what I thought my world was ending over as a child: 

• "You can do anything you put your mind to." 
• "Keep your eye on the ball, whatever the ball is - don't lose sight of it." 
• His favorite: "Hustle! Your attitude will makes things much better for you!" 

I'd get mad because he said them so much! Over time, those phrases became my self-talk, and have helped me time and again. As a test, I asked my sister before submitting this what three things she remembers. Our self talk matches identically!
